BMRT stands for Blue Moon Rendering Tools and is distributed for free. It is mostly compatible with RenderMan.

VirtuaLight is free for personal use. The renderer is able to use raytracing and radiosity algorithmen. Also it knows of caustics. To export your scenes out of Blender, it provides a script, but it is not perfect, you have to change the scene by hand.
